The exhibition “Picasso. The “late work” in the magnificent Palais Barberini on the Old Market Square was a crowd-puller from day one. No wonder, because the selection of paintings and sculptures that visitors can see here until 19 June is unique. Eleven exhibits alone will be on public display for the first time, while others will rarely be shown. We owe this magnificent show to Picasso’s daughter. Catherine Hutin comes from the great painter’s second marriage to Jacqueline Roque. The passionate relationship resulted in a drama thirteen years after Picasso’s death.
Jacqueline Roque shot herself out of never-ending grief in the midst of the paintings her beloved husband had made of her. These portraits are the focus of the Potsdam exhibition.
Catherine Hutin came to Potsdam on the occasion of the opening of the exhibition. She stayed at the Boutique Hotel Brandenburger Tor. An honour and distinction for our house.
